Immerse yourself in history when exploring the Veterans of the American Revolution Trail in the cemeteries of Rush, NY.
As part of the America 250 celebration, a self-guided tour has been mapped of the gravesites of 14 Rush veterans of the American Revolution. Rush was not yet a town at the time of the Revolution, but several who fought for independence, ended up later relocating to our town and are buried in our Rush cemeteries.
Here's how to participate:
Pick up a trail guide at the Rush Public Library.
Visit each Revolutionary War veteran's gravesite listed on the guide. The guide lists each veteran along with the cemetery where they are buried and the GPS coordinates of their grave site. Each grave is also marked with a small "Betsy Ross" style flag and a modern US flag for easy identification.
Return your completed guide to the library and receive a small commemorative memento of your journey!
