Peanut Line Railroad, February 4, 2-3 pm, Udicious Pavilion

History of the Peanut Line Railroad by Dr. Preston Pierce, Ontario County Historian. This railroad, which opened in 1853 as part of the NY Central Railroad, was built to connect Canandaigua to Batavia and also ran through Honeoye Falls and Rush. It carried the "doughboys" on their way to deportation to the European battlefields during World War I, and brought ease of both travel and commerce to upstate NY. Join us to learn about this long-gone but still fascinating history of our region! Sunday, February 4th, 2024 2-3 pm Rush Town Pavillion.
